Making 4.2/4.5 Themes

I really want to try and make a theme for my curve. I am just not sure about were to start.

If I missed this somewhere else, sorry I'm new here and this is my first post! So if I need to search let me know.

What programs, and tricks do you use and that you do not mind sharing?

I would be happy to post the themes I make once I get the hang of it because I am sure the first few would stink, lol.

Hi,
When I trry to generate a new theme than I always get warning: Failed to compile SVG files.
Even if I make repositioning of items in the banner window for being sure all items are inside of banner limit there. What is wrong what I do ? Why alway error appears ? How did you manage to compile a theme without errors ? A lot of questions here...

This has appeared a couple of time when i make a new custom theme.

You are quite right if anything is out of the banner screen or if the position you place the icons are out of the zone then this error appears.

Try just moving thing slightly and it will normally let you export the files without any errors

Hey plazmic will not download from the site?
I tried 3 different computers, so I am guessing they are having issues, know of anywhere else to download it from?

Strange i have just filled in the fields and it has taken me straight to download.

Check you firewall to make sure its not blocking ups.

I can start the download just fine, and I know it is not my firewall because I even disabled it to try.

The download gets to 98% and then says that their server is not valid. I e-mailed them about it, so we shall see.

Ok so I want to try and build my first theme…

I am so lost…

I want to make a Today plus custom, with icons close to the ones on this theme ( [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )

But for the most part with the colors and layout of this theme([Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )

So can someone point me in the direction of where to start?

I can help you. Assuming that you have already loaded the plazmic themebuilder, your first step is to experiment and play with it to get familiar with all the features. Then, since you pretty much know what you want to create, you have several choices.

First. ICONS-You have to find either a free set of icons on the web, which is hard to do if you don't where to look, or if you have a graphics application, you can make your own custom icons. Another option is bbiconstore, which has icon sets for sale.

Second. BACKGROUND-You have to s search the web for the background (wallpaper) you want to use, and then resize it according your phones parameters.

Those are the 2 biggest challenges I have when creating themes. Some may agree and some may disagree.

Sort of like making a cake-get the right mixture first and then the rest is as easy as pie!
